ANSI First Aid Kit Checklist

The ANSI sets minimum standards for first aid kits in order to better ensure consistency and completeness, and thus improving overall safety. These minimum requirements include a list of medical supplies (with quantities) that the ANSI recommends be included in any Class A or Class B first aid kit.

ANSI First Aid Kit Checklist

Here is a complete list of requirements for an ANSI first aid kit. Please note that these specific supplies and quantities are only a minimum—a kit may contain additional supplies and still meet ANSI standards.

ANSI Class A First Aid Kit Checklist

  • Antiseptic – 10 (0.14 fl. oz. applications)

  • Cold Pack – 1 (4” x 5”)

  • CPR Breathing Barrier – 1

  • Eye Covering – 2 (2.9 sq. in.) 

  • Eye Wash – 1 (1 fl. oz. total)

  • First Aid Guide – 1

  • Hand Sanitizer – 6 (1/32 oz. applications)

  • Medical Exam Gloves – 2 pairs

  • Roller Bandage, 2 inch – 1 (2” x 4 yd.)

  • Scissors – 1

  • Sterile Pad – 2 (3” x 3”)

  • Trauma Pad – 2 (5” x 9”)

  • Triangular Bandage – 1 (40” x 40” x 56”)
